The 50‑year‑aged Van Zellers Tawny is an exceptionally refined and multi‑layered experience.
The roots of Van Zellers & Co reach back to 1620, and the family has been a central part of the Douro River’s port wine culture for more than 14 generations.
The 50 Years Old Tawny Port is a blend of more than 30 traditional Douro varieties grown on the steep slopes of Cima Corgo, particularly in the Rio Torto and Pinhão valleys. The wine is bottled only on request, highlighting its exclusivity and the producer’s artisanal philosophy.
The wine is composed of very old tawny ports that have aged for 50 years or more in small, old oak casks. The long oxidative maturation brings nutty notes along with dried fruit and spice nuances. The grapes come from both old field blends and individual plots, adding to the aromatic complexity.
