Valduero Tierra Alta en 2 Racimos Gran Reserva GRV 2014

The "Unicorn" of Ribera – Pure Concentration from Two Clusters per Vine
In March 2026, the 2014 Valduero Dos Racimos is reaching legendary status. This wine represents the absolute peak of the estate’s viticulture. The name "Dos Racimos" refers to the extreme pruning practiced in these ancient, high-altitude vineyards: each vine is permitted to produce only two clusters of grapes. This results in an almost supernatural concentration of flavor, sugar, and tannins that requires an immense amount of time to harmonize.
The 2014 vintage was a "connoisseur's year" in Ribera del Duero—long, slow, and balanced. After spending 48 months in oak and another 48 months in the bottle within the estate's deep underground caves, the 2014 is only now beginning to reveal its full, majestic potential.
🍷 Tasting Notes (2026 Perspective)
The 2014 is a "monumental" wine. It doesn't just sit on the palate; it occupies it.
-
The Nose: Explosive and Multi-Dimensional. It opens with a dense core of blackberry liqueur, black truffles, and exotic spices. As it breathes, you’ll find sophisticated layers of expensive leather, dark cocoa, and a unique "wet stone" minerality.
-
The Palate: Massive yet Velvety. The entry is incredibly concentrated—almost "ink-like" in its depth. It features flavors of espresso, dark plum, and balsamic herbs. The tannins are huge but remarkably fine-grained and silky, a result of the 8-year aging process before release.
-
The Finish: Eternal and Savory. It concludes with a finish that lasts for several minutes, leaving notes of toasted cedar, graphite, and a hint of licorice.

Pro Tip
This wine is a "sleeping giant." Even with 12 years of age, the 2014 must be decanted for at least 2 to 3 hours. In its first hour, the wood and tannins can dominate; it needs significant air to let the truffle and dark fruit notes emerge. Serve at 17°C–18°C.
Because of its extreme concentration, it requires food with equal weight. It is a world-class partner for Wild Boar, Wagyu Beef, or slow-braised Oxtail. It is also one of the few wines that can stand up to the most intense, long-aged Blue Cheeses or a heavy truffle-infused dish.
