A Tempranillo red wine from high‑altitude vineyards, where ageing in two types of oak brings exceptional depth, power and longevity.
Valduero is one of the most respected family‑owned wineries in Ribera del Duero, founded in 1984. Tierra Alta refers to the vineyards located above 800 metres, among the highest slopes in the region. En 2 Maderas highlights the wine’s ageing in two different types of oak, a hallmark of Valduero and a guarantee of quality.
The wine comes from Ribera del Duero’s “golden triangle”, the area between Gumiel de Mercado and Villanueva de Gumiel, where the vineyards sit at 800–900 metres. The high altitude creates significant temperature shifts between day and night, developing intense fruit concentration and natural acidity in the grapes.
The grapes are hand‑harvested from old vines in high‑altitude vineyards and fermented with native yeasts, highlighting the region’s distinctive character. The wine ages for at least 15 months in two types of oak (French and American oak barrels) and then rests for an extended period in bottle, developing depth, layered aromas and the powerful yet elegant structure that defines Valduero.
The rich and powerful Valduero Tierra Alta en 2 Maderas shines at the table: its deep dark fruit and the spice from two types of oak make it a perfect match for beef, game, mushroom dishes and long‑aged cheeses. Its firm structure also supports cellaring, it will evolve beautifully for years, yet already delights alongside hearty flavours.
