The "Southern Burgundian" – A Silky, High-Altitude Red with Soul
In March 2026, the 2022 Bruno Lafon Racine Pinot Noir is a favorite among those who seek the elegance of Burgundy without the hefty price tag. Bruno Lafon, whose family name is legendary in Meursault (Domaine des Comtes Lafon), applies his meticulous winemaking philosophy to the cooler, high-altitude plots of the Limoux and Aude Valley regions.
🍷 Tasting Notes (2026 Perspective)
After nearly five years, the 2022 Pinot Noir has shed its primary "crunchy" phase and transitioned into a silky, more complex expression.
-
The Nose: Pretty and Perfumed. It leads with a vivid bouquet of wild strawberries, red cherries, and raspberries. As it breathes, sophisticated layers of dried rose petals, forest floor (sous-bois), and a hint of white pepper emerge.
-
The Palate: Fluid and Transparent. The entry is light and "dancing" on the tongue. You'll find a concentrated core of red berry fruit, supported by very fine, lace-like tannins. It feels "cool and airy" rather than jammy, reflecting the high-altitude terroir.
-
The Finish: Clean and Savory. It concludes with a refreshing "snap" of pomegranate and citrus zest, leaving the palate feeling refreshed.

Pro Tip
This Pinot Noir is a "gastronomic" red that thrives with a slight chill. Serve it at 14°C–15°C—standard room temperature will make the delicate red fruit feel "muddled," but a light chill brings the wild strawberry and floral notes into sharp focus. Using a large Burgundy-style glass is essential to let the aromatics "bloom."
Its high acidity and soft tannins make it an incredible partner for Roasted Salmon, Mushroom Risotto, Grilled Chicken with Thyme, or even Charcuterie and Mild Cheeses.
