A single‑vineyard wine where Douro Valley’s traditional grape varieties and modern winemaking come together in an elegant, layered expression.
Vinha da Francisca is named after the family’s daughter, and the vineyard was planted in her honor in 2004. The estate is located in Cima Corgo, in the heart of the Douro Valley, and the wine is part of the producer’s single‑vineyard series, where each plot tells its own story.
Douro is one of the world’s oldest demarcated wine regions, known for its steep slopes and extreme growing conditions. The Vinha da Francisca vineyard is planted mainly with Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Sousão and Tinta Roriz.
The grapes are hand‑harvested, and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and traditional lagares. The wine ages for 12–18 months in French oak barrels. The 2021 vintage in Douro was cooler and well‑balanced, resulting in vibrant acidity and pure, expressive fruit.
Vinha da Francisca shines at the table: grilled meats, slow‑cooked dishes and spicy vegetarian plates find a perfect match in this wine.
