A handcrafted rarity that honors the heritage of two distinguished Portuguese wine families.
The wine is a tribute to Maria Helena van Zeller Guedes, the matriarch of two prominent wine families.
Douro DOC is one of the world’s oldest demarcated wine regions and is known for its full‑bodied, dark‑toned red wines that combine ripe fruit, firm tannins and minerality.
The grapes are cleaned, destemmed and traditionally foot‑trodden in granite lagares. This is a historic Douro method that gives the wine a smooth tannin structure. The wine ages for at least 24 months in 225‑liter French oak barrels. The result is a full‑bodied, elegant and balanced wine with dark fruit, chocolate notes and a powerful structure.
Long ageing potential for cellaring. An excellent companion to a variety of game, meat and vegetable dishes. Spicier foods and cheeses also pair beautifully with this wine.
