Mikulski Bourgogne Meursault Limozin Blanc 2024

The "Hidden Gem" – A Broad-Shouldered and Seductive Lieu-Dit
In mid-2026, the freshly arriving 2024 Meursault "Le Limozin" continues its reign as one of the most compelling and highly sought-after "Lieu-Dit" (named plot) wines in Mikulski’s portfolio. Situated in a prime location directly below the prestigious 1er Cru Les Genevrières and adjacent to Poruzots, the Limozin vineyard benefits from a unique microclimate and soil composition—heavy alluvial river sediment with rich beds of clay rather than pure, hard limestone bedrock. This specific breakdown gives the wine a broader, more grounding structure than the linear, high-altitude Tillets or the rocky Meix Chavaux.
Because Mikulski owns a tiny 0.15-hectare parcel here with old vines planted in the 1950s, he only produces roughly 600 to 900 bottles of Limozin when he chooses to vinify it separately. It remains a legendary "rare find" for those who appreciate the generous, gourmet, and texturally rich side of Meursault.
🍷 Tasting Notes (2026 Perspective)
The 2024 vintage is incredibly sensual, fleshy, and full-bodied out of the gate. While it shares the opulent, fruit-forward weight of the solar 2022 and 2023 vintages, it carries a striking primary energy that frames its massive extract beautifully.
-
The Nose: Lush, Deep, and Exotic. It leads with ripe, sun-kissed aromas of poached pear, yellow peach, and caramelized mango. Beneath the intense fruit lies a decadent, sophisticated layer of freshly cracked hazelnuts, sweet almond oil, and white honey, accented by a high-toned floral hint of elderflower and a crack of white pepper.
-
The Palate: Enveloping, Silky, and Voluminous. The entry is deeply satisfying and fleshy, instantly coating the palate with a rich, unctuous mid-palate texture driven by 65-year-old vine concentration. You'll find flavors of yellow apricot and baked apple beautifully balanced by a warm, spicy complexity—think cardamom, lemongrass, and subtle ginger spice.
-
The Finish: Long, Persistent, and Savory. It rolls into a monumental finish, leaving a savory, mouth-watering trail of citrus zest, beeswax, and a distinct chalky mineral "grip" that provides structural lift and cuts clean through the wine's upfront richness.

Pro Tip
The Limozin is the ultimate "gastronomy Meursault." Because of its broader alluvial structure, deep mid-palate fat, and spicy undertones, it is one of the few white Burgundies that can stand up to bold, intensely flavorful culinary pairings.
-
The Classic Match: A heaven-sent pairing for rich white meats and decadent reductions. Outstanding alongside Poulet de Bresse with a wild morel cream reduction, butter-basted veal medallions, or slow-roasted pork belly.
-
The Seafood Match: The massive volume and nutty complexity align beautifully with luxury shellfish. Think Lobster Thermidor, pan-seared sea scallops finished in hazelnut brown butter, or grilled Turbot.
-
The "Nordic" Match: An absolute showstopper when served next to a warm slab of Hot-smoked Arctic Char (Lämmin savustettu nieriä) or thick cuts of Glazed Salmon with Ginger. Serve at 12°C–14°C in a large balloon glass to allow its sensual bouquet to fully expand and harmonize with the clean fish fats.
