Fatal Shore refers to Tasmania’s rugged coastline and Australia’s early history. The name reflects the wine’s dramatic and multi‑layered origin.
Coal River Valley in Tasmania provides a cool climate, a long growing season, and limestone‑rich soils. These conditions give the grapes vibrant acidity, refined aromatics, and exceptional structure.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with natural yeasts, adding layers and depth to the wine. Part of the wine is aged in new French oak barrels, which contribute spice and structure as it matures. Another portion is aged in older French oak barrels, highlighting the wine’s own personality and fruit expression. The wine is aged in oak for approximately eight months.
