Giant Steps was founded in 1997 by Phil Sexton, known as a pioneer of the Australian wine industry. The estate quickly rose to become one of the most respected producers in the Yarra Valley, especially for its single‑vineyard wines that highlight the distinctive qualities of each site.
Tarraford Vineyard is located in the Yarra Valley in the state of Victoria. The region is known for its cool climate, which produces fresh, multi‑layered and structured Chardonnay wines.
The grapes are hand‑picked and carefully selected to ensure that only perfectly ripe grapes make it into the wine. The wine ferments and matures in French oak barrels for about nine months. The estate’s style is to craft Chardonnay wines that are mineral‑driven yet fruit‑forward.
This wine is an excellent choice with a variety of fish and seafood dishes. Try oven‑baked salmon or a chili‑spiced prawn pasta. Light meats, such as pork ribs, also make an intriguing pairing with this wine.
