A balanced and layered Cabernet in which Napa Valley’s ripe fruit and extended oak aging create a classic, long‑lived wine.
Freemark Abbey is one of the oldest wineries in Napa Valley, founded as early as 1886. It was also one of the few wineries that survived Prohibition by continuing to produce sacramental wine.
The wine comes from some of Napa Valley’s most renowned areas, including Rutherford and St. Helena, where warm days and cool nights produce grapes that are both intense and beautifully balanced.
The grapes are hand‑harvested and the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks. It is then aged for 18–24 months in French oak barrels. The 2018 vintage offered an exceptionally balanced and long growing season, resulting in a wine with ripe fruit and excellent tannin structure.
This wine truly shines alongside a variety of meat dishes, whether grilled or slow‑cooked. Spicy vegetarian dishes and the bold flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine also make excellent pairings.
