Domaine Marchand‑Grillot is a family estate with roots dating back to the 1950s. The domaine is located in the heart of Gevrey‑Chambertin, one of Burgundy’s most prestigious village appellations.
Gevrey‑Chambertin is one of the most renowned villages in the Côte de Nuits, valued for its powerful yet elegantly maturing Pinot Noir wines. The soil is composed of limestone and clay, giving the wines structure, minerality and excellent ageing potential.
The grapes are hand‑harvested and fermentation takes place with natural yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Gentle maceration and ageing in French oak barrels highlight the delicacy of Pinot Noir and add refined spiciness to the wine.
Gevrey‑Chambertin is an excellent choice for dinners featuring game, duck or wild mushrooms. The wine opens up slowly and rewards decanting. In the cellar it evolves for years, revealing ever more refined nuances.
