Dalva is especially renowned for its Colheita Ports, the hallmark of the house and favourites among collectors. Colheita means a single vintage, and 1990 is one of the estate’s most highly regarded releases.
The wine comes from the Douro Valley, one of the world’s oldest and steepest wine regions. The varieties used are traditional Port grapes such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
The grapes are traditionally pressed and fermentation is halted by adding grape spirit, preserving the wine’s natural sweetness. Dalva Colheita 1990 has matured for over 30 years in oak barrels, developing nutty, caramelised and dried‑fruit nuances.
Dalva Colheita 1990 is the perfect match for blue cheese, hard cheeses and nutty or caramel‑based desserts. Its silky texture and toasted aromas elevate both cheeses and sweet dishes. Enjoy lightly chilled with food or on its own.
