A remarkably refined Bordeaux where biodynamic cultivation and the legendary 2000 vintage come together to create a luxurious, multi‑layered wine.
Château Maison Blanche is owned by Nicolas Despagne; the same family also owns the renowned Grand Corbin Despagne in Saint‑Émilion. The estate’s name comes from the white stone house built by Octave Pineau in the late 19th century, a building that stood out from the region’s traditionally light‑brown stone architecture.
The wine comes from Montagne–Saint‑Émilion, located north of Saint‑Émilion and known for its Merlot‑driven, softly structured wines. The soils are predominantly clay and limestone, producing full‑bodied, tannic wines with excellent ageing potential. The blend consists of approximately 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc.
Fermentation takes place in concrete vats with natural yeasts, preserving the pure character of the grape and the terroir. The wine is aged in both new and seasoned French oak barrels for up to 18 months, adding spice, structure and excellent ageing potential.
A versatile Bordeaux that shines both at festive dinners and everyday meals. The perfect companion for game, slow‑braised meat dishes and aged cheeses.
