The "Pure Alchemy" – A Late-Harvest Masterpiece
The Vibe
In 2026, the 2013 Millésime is reaching its peak "golden hour." The 2013 vintage in Champagne was unique—a very late harvest (one of the few in October this century) that resulted in wines with a "shimmering" acidity and incredible structural depth.
While the Sélection 3 Cépages is about youthful balance, the 2013 Millésime is a "Prestige" cuvée that trades the Pinot Noir for a higher concentration of Chardonnay to capture the elegance of the year. This is a "Brut Nature" or "Zéro Dosage" style, meaning no sugar was added at the end, allowing the pure, mineral-driven character of the 2013 fruit to speak for itself.
The Nose
The nose has evolved beautifully over its 10+ years in the cellar, moving from fresh fruit to complex "autumnal" notes:
-
Initial Scents: A direct, piercing minerality followed by nougat, honey, and dried fruits.
-
The Evolution: With air, it opens up into delicate floral notes of jasmine and mirabelle plum.
-
The Toast: Because of the extended time on the lees (over 5 years), there is a rich undercurrent of toasted nuts and brioche.
The Taste
On the palate, this wine is intense, high-pitched, and generous.
-
The Profile: Expect a powerful "cider apple" acidity—sharp and clean—balanced by the creamy weight of the Meunier. Flavors of fresh orange and lime dominate the mid-palate.
-
The Texture: Even without added sugar, the mousse is exceptionally fine and "lively," providing a full, mouth-filling experience.
-
The Finish: Very long and "gastronomic," leaving a saline, mineral tingle that cleanses the palate.
