A refined and fresh Pinot Noir whose pure flavour makes it an ideal wine for both sipping and dining.
The name Alte Grafschaft is directly tied to the region’s history and the former County of Wertheim, on whose lands the winery has operated for centuries. The name literally means “the old county.”
Tauberfranken is an exceptionally diverse wine region where quality is shaped by the interplay of climate, soil and long history. It is a narrow, river‑valley‑shaped area where the vineyards grow at elevations of 170–340 metres.
The wine ferments and matures in stainless‑steel tanks, preserving the grape’s pure fruit character. This is a very traditional Pinot Noir with red berry notes, minerality and bright acidity.
This wine is so pure‑styled that it works beautifully both as an aperitif and with food. Hearty salads like goat cheese salad with balsamic are an excellent match. Try it also with sizzling chili‑seasoned prawns. Classic pairings work just as well, such as mushroom risotto or duck rillettes.
