The name Alte Grafschaft refers to the old county in which the winery is located. The historical surroundings and long-standing cultivation traditions shape the producer’s philosophy: the wine is made with deep respect for the identity of the region.
Mosel is one of Germany’s coolest wine regions, which gives Riesling its high acidity and bright citrus-driven profile. The grapes are 100% Riesling, a variety considered one of the world’s finest white grapes due to its exceptional ability to reflect the characteristics of its growing site.
Fermentation takes place at a cool temperature, preserving the grape’s aromatics and freshness. The wine matures in stainless steel tanks to keep the pure fruit character and minerality at the forefront.
An excellent companion for fish and seafood dishes, such as grilled pike-perch or mussels in a white wine broth. It also pairs beautifully with spicier flavors. Chinese Kung Pao chicken, with its chili heat, is well balanced by the wine’s acidity and fruitiness.
