The wine comes from the Kaffelstein vineyard, where steep slopes and a cool microclimate produce an exceptionally delicate and aromatic Pinot Noir.
The name Alte Grafschaft refers to the old county in which the winery is located. The historical surroundings and long-standing cultivation traditions shape the producer’s philosophy: the wine is made with respect for the region’s identity and traditions.
Mosel is one of Germany’s coolest wine regions, which gives Pinot Noir its high acidity, light structure, and bright a red berry profile.
Valmistustapa englanniksi (ENG)Fermentation takes place at a cool temperature in stainless steel tanks, preserving the grape’s aromatics and freshness. The wine is aged for about 24 months in French oak barrels, allowing its characteristic fruit profile to mature into a balanced expression.
A classic pairing for this wine is duck breast or stuffed quail, but richer fish such as salmon also work beautifully. It’s also well worth trying the wine with truffle pasta.
